Suspension Tuning

Rear Hubs

The final step in the rear suspension was to install the rear hubs.  I started by attaching the DeDion ears (part 3) onto the DeDion tubes.  I attached the hubs (part 2) onto the DeDion ears and assembled the anti roll bar attachments.

Now I needed to assemble the actual brake mechanism.  This part was a little tricky to align, but once everything is aligned it is a very simple mechanism to put on the hubs.  After that was done, I tightened the hub nut as much as I could without spinning the rear shafts.

I will fully tighten the hub nuts when the brake system is filled and the handbrake is set up.

As I was turning the wheel hub, the brakes were grinding on the pad.  I was concerned about this, but later when I filled the brakes with fluid, the pad aligned in the right way.
