Now it was time to install the heater. First, I needed to cut a grommet to fit over the wiring to seal the hole in the firewall. The only problem was that the grommet was small, and this made glueing it back together very challenging. But I got it after a few tries.
I mounted the heater onto the car. To do this, I removed the battery to help get the heater into place.
I then needed to mount the temperature control valve. I found and cut the tubing between the heater and actuator valve. I placed the tubes in boiling water for a while until they loosened up a bit. To make it easier to slide onto the mounting end of the valve and heater.
The last step was wiring up the actuator cable to the cockpit of the car. There was a small problem. The valve and cable were set up for a right hand drive car, but I have a left hand drive car. In the end, I decided to wire the actuator cable into the passenger's seat footwell where it would be for a right hand drive car. Because the cockpit is so small, reaching over to turn the heater on/off is easy enough. I drilled a hole in the firewall and routed the cable through.
I am planning on making a stopper for the existing hole that was pre drilled on the left side for the cable.
